
About Mike Kewley – Mindfulness Teacher, Author and TEDx Speaker
Mike Kewley helps people focus, flourish and awaken, in the midst of everyday life.
With more than 30 years of experience exploring mindfulness, meditation, and the world’s wisdom traditions, Mike’s work bridges ancient wisdom and practical application. His teaching helps people reduce stress, quiet an overactive mind, and develop the emotional resilience and presence needed to navigate modern life, while also opening the door to deeper insights into awareness, the nature of the mind and awakening.
Mike’s introduction to meditation began early in life. He is the eldest son of meditation teacher Dhammachariya Pannadipa, and grew up surrounded by Buddhist philosophy and contemplative practice. This early exposure sparked a lifelong interest in meditation, spirituality, and the exploration of consciousness.
Alongside decades of personal practice, Mike studied Religious Studies and Western Esotericism, deepening his understanding of the world’s wisdom traditions and their shared insights into human flourishing and awakening.
Today Mike shares his work through public courses, workshops, retreats, 1-2-1 mindfulness programmes, and corporate mindfulness training. His teaching is practical, accessible, and grounded in lived experience, helping people develop skills such as attention training, emotional balance, stress regulation, and mindful awareness.
He has delivered mindfulness training for organisations including PokerStars, Santander and Lloyds Bank, Hansard, Microgaming and Zurich, helping teams improve focus, communication, and wellbeing in demanding environments.
Mike is also the author of The Treasure House: Discovering Enlightenment Exactly Where You Are (New Sarum Press, 2022), a guide to discovering presence and awakening within everyday life. His work has been featured in Mensa Magazine, The Liverpool Echo, Women’s Fitness, and The Independent, and he has delivered a popular TEDx talk on happiness.
In addition to his teaching, Mike is the organiser of the Mindful Mann Festival and host of The Wide Aware Podcast, where he explores meditation, consciousness, nonduality and awakening.
At the heart of Mike’s work is a simple insight: that the calm, clarity, and freedom we search for elsewhere can only be discovered within the present moment itself. Ultimately, we are what we seek.
Through mindfulness training, meditation practice and self-inquiry, Mike helps people experience this directly, bringing greater peace, understanding, and presence into everyday life.
